I don’t really care if GTA 6 is $100+. It’s the best of the best, maximum effort, no expense spared tier of video game making. I might eventually get it and I might not.

Keep in mind that Super Nintendo games were $60 or $70 in the mid 90s. Games have come down in relative price recently and are only now starting to creep back up, but that’s because gaming has become a massively popular hobby and a lot of people want huge masterpieces like GTA 6 or Elder Scrolls 6.

I mean, people already do this. Lots of folks do crosswords or sudoku or other puzzles to keep their mind sharp. It’s pretty commonly recommended by doctors I think.

Because there is an actual user base for niche interests. Lemmy is great but doesn’t have nearly enough users to support communities for a lot of topics.

In fact you don’t even have to get too niche to find that a topic is non-existent on lemmy. Sports for example.

Now do it for my tv, my phone, my wife’s iPhone, and all my hotel TVs when I travel. And also include video downloads and background playback. And also include a music streaming service that also includes downloading.
