I thought lemsha.re stopped working - guess not, that’s good news! And such a cool feature by the dev with the voyager link. Haven’t tried that feature out yet (voyager is my personal favourite lemmy app).
I am but a cog in a machine. A lazy one though.
If you are new on Lemmy, check out: https://lemmyverse.net/communities for communities to join!

Ah must remember wrong or maybe it was proposed!
Yeah the software would need to know, but in a way “lemmy” knows because it knows which instances your instance is federating with. If your instance isn’t federating with the link target it cant find it anyway.
Same as the ! Exclamation mark for communities or @ for users it can do a look up (you can put my link to your search input in lemmy and it will find it), but there would be otherways to achieve this too.
But yeah it would be really nice to have some universal way like the ! And @ signs to point to another fedi post/comment.
No problem, I feel like fedistuff is so scattered and hidden that it’s always worth mentioning your favourite tools :)
The frontends and apps do redirect embedded links in comments no? E.g. if you click this it should automatically use your instance to find the comment (even though its a link to my instance): https://sopuli.xyz/comment/17606535
Or maybe you mean when you paste an url to the browser that it should automatically redirect to your instance? If so thats tad bit difficult. There was once a post that proposed something like a activityPub/lemmy URI scheme where links would look like this:
activitypub://<postorcommentidentifier>
But I don’t remember where that conversation led and also I have no idea how feasible that would be.
Edit: added words
I agree with the other answers here, however if you share the link to another fediuser outside of the platform (e.g matrix) I really like sharing with threadiverse.link.
Edit: an example using your post with threadiverse link (used my local instance to copy the post): https://threadiverse.link/sopuli.xyz/post/29845043
You set your instance once into the cookies and it will always redirect to yours.
I haven’t delved deep into the problem but yeah, also wouldn’t surprise me if it’s about win11 specifically.
Marking August 7th to my calendar. Stupid greedy Oracle should’ve let JS trademark go long time ago.
Glad to it’s been working fine on win10!
I have encountered the same issues as above on multiple different devices running win11 and that’s why I wanted to make a heads-up.
Two separate linux installations, in the otherhand, had no issues at all running libreoffice.
Just a headsup incase you try it on windows 11 before you do on linux:
LibreOffice, out of the box, is slow and buggy sometimes on windows 11 and the user interface doesn’t look as smooth as on linux. You might have to tweak some graphics settings to bearable.
LibreOffice looks and works significantly better on Linux.
The write-up I’m referencing has some at the end. Maybe Delta chat?
Views that seriously harm or endanger other people are dangerous.
If the founder would have opposing views in e.g. should we narrow down the car roads in cities and widen the pedestrian walks - ok. I think there’s a lot to this question, I think pedestrian walks should be wider, cars are dangerous, etc. But this is not as dangerous as:
“Do you deny scientific evidence that COVID is real and a real danger to a lot of humans”
SimpleX Chat – Many suggested this and I will explicitly recommend against it due to the founder’s positions on various topics. This includes being anti-vaxx, believing COVID-19 was a hoax, trans- and homophobia, climate denial; In the SimpleX Groupchat he’s also been seen basically bootlicking trump a couple times, but I’ve lost receipts to that.
I did not know this. I’ve seen people recommend SimpleX on lemmy too, but probably they didn’t know.
Lol love the new username, fitting! :)
Yeah holy shit. When I was starting out and tagged along a senior on a trip he literally hauled a big backpack of spirits with him.
Got out of that industry after a few years when I realized why every senior was drinking. The money was just not worth it for me.
Hmm… Smells like a windows user aswell… Look at that:
.desktop desktop.ini
Edit: fixed the filename
That would be awesome!
Since the page doesn’t have about or info page I’ll add the link to the repo of threadiverse.link: https://github.com/RikudouSage/lemmyverse.link
