That’s a fair concern to a degree of course even the most fair sentences might have a disgruntled person on the other end of it but a fair justice system that serves and protects its community equally has little to fear overall. When a justice system is unfair, unequal, does not serve or protects its community that risk goes way up however they only have themselves to blame for the increased risk. They’re actually significantly below their current hiring target at the executive level and people are leaving left and right.

Amazon is currently hemorrhaging executive level and above engineers. Amazon will have to be replacing these jobs with AI cause every one of value has already left/is leaving and filling those jobs with qualified people at that level is actually a lot more difficult than more junior level positions.

Idk if I’m planning on murdering someone I’m not keeping it in digital form where who knows who or what is stealing/scraping it or using a back door or whatever. Deleting stuff off a computer can also be difficult with insane things being recovered off computers. I would have zero interest in linking anything illegal to anything digital in this day and age.

Seriously though I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, it’s a shitty place to be. Personally I’ve had friends have some success with anti-cult/anti-brainsashing techniques but even when done under ideal conditions with people in obvious and outright cults it can fail. The human brain really just is wired in such a way cult think can genuinely hijack it

Idk I’ve never considered forums where you talk to strangers to be social media. If I don’t know anyone it’s not “social” to me, it’s one step away from talking to myself to be on a site like Lemmy or Reddit

I found I wasn’t getting anything out of it so I just stopped using it, after three months I just deleted it. Facebook legit sucks, like it’s nothing but ads and garbage so it felt super easy to get rid of for me. I also figured if there’s pictures there they’re also already on my phone and if they’re not it’s not like I know which ones to miss them, like it if I don’t know it exists anymore I can’t actually miss not having it so I just straight up chucked the whole thing in the trash. I’ve had zero interest in going back. I think years ago it would have been harder but now? There’s literally nothing of value to bring me back
