Wouldn’t this kill their ad revenue? Which is like…most of their revenue?

I’ve used agents for implementing entire APIs and front-ends from the ground up with my own customizations and nuances.
I will say that, for my pedantic needs, it typically only gets about 80-90% of the way there so I still have to put fingers to code, but it definitely saves a boat load of time in those instances.
I’ve found Claude 3.7 and 4.0 and sometimes Gemini variants still leagues better than ChatGPT/Copilot.
Still not perfect, but night and day difference.
I feel like ChatGPT didn’t focus on coding and instead focused on mainstream, but I am not an expert.
ChatGPT has been, hands down, the worst AI coding assistant I’ve ever used.
It regularly suggests code that doesn’t compile or isn’t even for the language.
It generally suggests AC of code that is just a copy of the lines I just wrote.
Sometimes it likes to suggest setting the same property like 5 times.
It is absolute garbage and I do not recommend it to anyone.
I run Linux too, but I have to use windows for some contract jobs.
How’d you do that? I’ve made registry tweaks, group policy tweaks, etc and my windows machine still eventually hits a limit where it forces updates around the 12 week mark. Granted it’s still longer than before, it isn’t completely disabled.
I have 60ish plugins for VS Code and IntelliJ is still slower / sluggish.
Oh thank god, I thought it was just me and that my IP had been flagged for some reason.
I guess that makes some sense, I loathe Jira but I think it’s largely because everywhere I’ve worked that uses Jira has poorly customized it and just ruined the experience.
You might be joking but I honestly think that’s the case. It’s wild to me. I’ve worked for Fortune 500 companies using SNOW and everybody hated it and regularly voiced complaints and issues and yet the company refused to change. Started doing shit like releasing more training docs on how to use it or doing brown bag lunches on SNOW effectiveness.
But ultimately none of that mattered, it is just inherently garbage.
I didn’t even know this existed and I use Ghostery.
the fuck does service now even need AI for?
I hate any company I work for that uses ServiceNow. And now it’s getting worse??
Definitely not OK. But it exists and I don’t think people realize it goes beyond tracking clicks to taking actual screenshots that can be stitched together practically as a video. It sucks.
Can’t wait for the robo taxis to get vandalized.
Barring that, can’t wait until they fail miserably.
Yup. Worked briefly for a company that would “snapshot” the browser view quite often, enough where if an issue arose we could somewhat replay the user’s interactions to try and repro the issue.
Ah, okay, thanks for the info! I’ve never used Duolingo so I genuinely don’t know.
In another thread someone told me you can buy gems or something to keep your streak going.
That would’ve made me uninstall long before his comments.
I was in the same boat about…3mos ago. But recent tooling is kind of making me rethink things. And to be honest I’m kind of surprised. I’m fairly anti-AI.
Is it perfect? Fuck no. But with the right prompts and gates, I’m genuinely surprised. Yes, I still have to tweak, but we’re talking entire features being 80% stubbed in sub 1 minute. More if I want it to test and iterate.
My major concern is the people doing this and not reviewing the code and shipping it. Because it definitely needs massaging…ESPECIALLY for security reasons.
I meant why would people advertise on Google if it won’t convert to clicks anymore?
